1969年に公開されたミニミニ大作戦（The Italian Job）のリメイク映画。ストーリーは一緒だがそれ以外のプロットやキャラクターは異なっており、監督のF・ゲイリー・グレイはオマージュ映画と表現している。改造した3台のミニクーパーで自分たちを裏切った元同僚から金塊を盗み出すカーアクション映画。ミニクーパーが主役となっている為、ミニミニ大作戦という名前が付いている。
